Mobile home..water sitting on pad.?

I'm putting in a double wide mobile home onto my property...Ive got concrete runners installed on a clay pad, the top of the runners are "flush" with the pad itself. The pad slopes away from the concrete runners but rain does not run off when it gets on top of the pad itself .In fact the rain water just sits on top of some of the runners (in some areas over a inch deep) because there are mounds of dirt in between each runner...Should I level out the mounds? or should i put more dirt in on top of the runners? . Today is Wed. and I'm moving the home in on Monday. It rained lastnight and there is water on a few of the runners just as ive been talking about...With sunlight, it will evaporate in notime but once the house gets in im worried this wont be the case...Although the clay pad and runners are above the "regular" ground level im pretty sure rain water will eventually get under the house after i move it in and i wouldnt want it standing on the runners for long...Any advice is apprecia

Try using sharp sand instead of dirt in between the runners.

I think that the home will prevent it from getting wetter. Skirting shouldn't be installed untill it dries out under the home. It will dry out even with the home over it.

Mobile home cost?

How much would a 4 bedroom 2-3 bathroom mobile home cost in new mexico?

Mobile home cost?
Catties answer is BRILLIANT!

If you want an approximate price for used, try www.mhv.com. When you get the site, put your zip code in. You will see many homes in the area for sale, where they are, possibly photos and prices.
Reply:Homes are not called "mobile" unless they are older than pre-1976 I believe. Your question is somewhat open-ended. It depends upon the same factors as with any home...location, quantity of property, age, and the condition of the home. Today a manufactured home is in many cases better built than a stick built home . My two most recent quality builder stick built homes lacked severely in many areas i.e. linen storage. The floors squeaked. I love the ingenuity of the manufacturered home designers. I can't understand why a stick built builder can't apply the same principles. It is unfortunate that public persona is still biased against manufactured housing.

Mobile phone tools vs mini sd card?

which is better and why? I've heard that using usb mobile phone tools makes your pictures show up blurry and small

Mobile phone tools vs mini sd card?
Hi ANASTASIA,

Mobile Phone Tools does not make your pictures blurry. It transfers the pictures you have to your phone. If it is a good picture it shows up good. If it is a bad picture to begin with it will show up blurry.

You can't hurt anything by trying it and it isn't expensive. For current eBay listings go to eBay and do a search for “Motorola Phone Tools”. Look at the ones that offer digital delivery. I have seen it as cheap as $1.95

Once you have the software Motorola updates it free forever.

Mobile help.?

I don't mean help on the move, no I want to know what mobile to buy.

I want a camera on it at least 1.3 megapixels and video recording/playback features. That's it.

It would be nice to have blue tooth and Mp3 player but I need the phone to be cheep, and I mean cheep as am saving at the moment so I'm looking at phones under £50.00 new or used.

Also are there any good places to buy cheap phones

I'm looking at Pay as you go.

Cheers.

Mobile help.?
If u want a phone at that rate and that too with 1.3 MP camera it is not possible....may be u can get some not so reputed brand..at that price u can get Sony Ericsson W200i which is a entry level walkman phone but it has VGA camera but MP3 player with micro SD slot which can be expanded to 2GB. If u could save some more money u could try for W800i. May be u can buy second hand phone..i advice u not to buy from a shop..if u want to buy a 2nd hand phone then buy it from someone u know or from someone who wants to sell the phone bcoz he/she dosen't like the model, etc.

Mobile phone?
There are various ways did it come with a u.s.b. cable? plug that in and if you are on windows vista it should find the phone and be able to download from it, otherwise does the phone have bluetooth if so you can but a bluetooth dongle for about a tenner and these plug in to your usb port and you transfer using the bluetooth program on your phone.
Reply:through wire
Reply:there are three ways.

1. if this phone has a memory card, use a memory card reader to transfer whatever you want.

2. Data Cable. you would have got it with the phone. install the phone browser that is on the cd you got along with the phone.

3. Bluetooth
Reply:Did it come with a USB wire? If so connect that from the phone to the computer and Bob's your uncle!

just got my chocolate blue-ice and i adore it. And the IM feature seems good.

I want to be on full time on mobile IM. Problem is, whenever i sign onto my computer and recieve IMs, i get them on my phone and it's annoying.

Anyway how to stop recieveing IM's on my phone while signed onto the computer while not signing out?

Mobile IM Question?
The only way I know to stop the messages is to sign out of the service. With Yahoo, it automatically does, but with AIM you have to send a code to the notification to do it. I'll be watching this to see if there's a workaround!

Mobile phones to be allowed on planes?

What do you think about the new proposal to allow mobile phones to be used on European flights? I think it's bad enough sitting on a bus or train listening to some plonker waffle on for ages about nothing important, what are your thoughts?

Mobile phones to be allowed on planes?
With you on that one, why do people need to be in touch with everyone twenty four hours a day, seven days a week....
Reply:I feel that its a huge risk to security
Reply:i agree with you, whatever happened to private time without the inteference of others, let alone imposing it on the surrounding environment
Reply:I think they should be allowed on planes, but only for a certain amount of time.

When i turn my phone on it gives you an option of wheather to put it on flight mode or normal mode.

so if people put their phones on flight mode the phone would turn of a while later.
Reply:Bad idea, agree with other users answers...........thought it affects equipment..
Reply:I think they should only be used for half an hour before landing so you can inform those who are meeting you, your arrival time. Maybe when the sign when to put your safety belts on is displayed. Otherwise NO.NO. I don`t want to be sat next to some nerd constantly talking into his mobile. Long distance travel many people prefer to sleep, I think this in an intrusion into peoples comfort.
Reply:Its just another excuse for the mobile companys to charge £1 per minute if you use your mobile on the plane
Reply:Oh you just know the person next to you will be rabbiting on to there relatives all flight.Does my head in,its nice to have peace and quite on a flight.
Reply:All my mobile phones have refused to work every time i walk near a tree so i find it highly unlikely that i will be able successfully ring somebody 35,000 ft above the earth
Reply:I have a problem with all of the above lol, security, conversations all around me, ringtones, games aaaaaaaaaaaaaa

have you seen the LG Viewty actually has an option to press when using phones on planes?
Reply:Ive got no issue with security or anything. but like you said. I dont want some plonker talking on their phone constantly.
Reply:Yet until there is a major air disaster, then they will blame it on mobile phones.
Reply:Yes, just today it has been anounced by the CAA that planes will be allowed to have mobiles in European airspace.

but remember mobile phones need cells to work in and these do not exist in the middle of the atlantic etc. so the plane company will make a cell and transmit the signal, so your going to have to roam and I am sure you will end up paying a lot of money for the privlage
Reply:I agree with you, its bad enough that literally as soon as you land half the plane switch on their phones - cue the beeps of the service messages welcoming you to spain or wherever you are! aaaarrrrggggghhh, you're on holiday, leave it!
Reply:Yes...the airlines who continue to ban them will have my business.
Reply:I agree. I think they should be banned completely on flights. I have been able to use a phone in business class but it was expensive, but to allow everyone to use phones is an intrusion to everyone on the plane who wants to relax.
Reply:it interferes with there machinery doesn't it?

that's why your asked to turn them off during a flight...
Reply:great for terrorists to trigger a bomb in the hold.
Reply:no phones on any public transport until people can learn how to use them and not annoy half the bloody plane/train/bus. the stupidest idea ever award has a candidate
Reply:Very bad idea, for two reasons. one I can't stand listening to another persons conversation about the mundane, and two it might offset other electronic equipment or at worst be used to self detonate a package in the cargo hold.

Do Australian mobile providers charge for incoming international calls?

In Canada, the land-line phones offer unlimited local calling (for a monthly fee). When calling a mobile (cell phone) from a land line, the mobile owner pays for the call, it's still free for the caller. I believe that in Australia it's the call originator that always pays, never the call receiver. My question: does that hold true for international calls, say from Skype - would the mobile owner in Australia have to pay to receive an international call from Skype? And are you confident your answer is correct for any mobile provider in Australia? Thanks.

Do Australian mobile providers charge for incoming international calls?
If the caller is O/S and the receiver is in Australia (with AU carrier), the caller pays and the receiver doesn't.

If the receiver (who has an AU carrier and "GLOBAL ROAMING" activated), receives a call while they are O/S from anywhere in the world, both the receiver and the caller pay.

By the way, to receive a call while global roaming is activated is quite expensive, so try to limit the call time!
Reply:All overseas calls to an Australian mobile number are charged to the call originator. So if you call an Australian mobile from OS you pay.

Virgin and Tesco are known as MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operators), which means they use an existing network to provide their services. Virgin runs on the T-Mobile network and Tesco uses the O2 network, therefore if you are happy with the service you get from O2 the Tesco option may be best for your needs.

I want mobile that can work as PDA?

i really want a mobile phone (GPS) where i can play music (MP3, Wav, ....), video, take good quality picture, play any video, and can even work as PDA. It should have bluetooth, IR, WiFi, EDGE and more. Its better if it capture video in MP4, more than 3 mega pixel camera and support more than 2GB external memory and have about 512mb internal memory. support 2 Sim is a plus point. moreover, i can find more application pre-installed in mobile in internet easily as S60 series phone. and should be cheap, long lasting and somewhat future proof.. and much more as other common mobile. plz don't recommand flip mobile coz i have broke 2 brand new phones and no longer want that.

Attaching a mobile home to owned property - any advantages/disadvantages?

I know someone who owns a double or triple-wide mobile home and the property it's sitting on. She also purchased an adjacent lot. I'm not familiar with all the terminology involved, but I'm trying to find out if there are any advantages/disadvantages to making a property "permanent" on the land.

This process involves setting a foundation of some sort and having it reevaluated (by an appraiser I assume.) From there you go to the city and have it reclassified as a home vs. mobile home.

The one advantage I can think of is banks would be willing to lend home equity at better rates, treating it as a home vs. a mobile home. Many banks won't give out home equity loans to mobile home owners, even if paid off. Are there other advantages?

The disadvantage. Higher taxes? Would property taxes change somehow with this reclassification? Would it help or hurt in any way (i.e. taxes) for her to combine the property and both lots into one large lot?

Attaching a mobile home to owned property - any advantages/disadvantages?
The process you are describing is called 'title elimination' or something similar. In my state, mobile and manufactured homes are licensed just like trailers and cars, by the vehicle licensing department. By eliminating the title, you are tying the ownership with the land which give lenders a much better lien. Many lenders won't lend on mobile homes if the title has not been eliminated. It can also be retitled later if needed.

It shouldn't have any affect on the value, but may help in obtaining better financing since the market has completely collapsed for mobile home lending.
Reply:One major factor to consider is a lender will lend on a manufactured home that has ANY attachments (car port, room additions etc). Your friend should make plans, build a SFR (single family dwelling) and tear down the manufactured home. Most lenders will not make loans on manufactured homes if they are NOT on a permanent foundation as well. You are better off building a nice new home and getting rid or renting out the mobile once the new home is built.
Reply:Mobiles loose value regardless. It will make her insurance go down, taxes go up and might even be against her town, counties or states laws.

Temporary mobile home sites are fine when there is a plan set for regular construction and the temp situation is "Just until the new house is built".

Reclassifying means nothing if you want to sell, a horse is a horse is a horse....unless of course its sway backed then its a nag...which is what will happen when the value drops out from under your friend. Sometimes the land has more value if you move the mobile!
Reply:The appraisals I've seen don't care if it's on a permanent foundation or not. It still gets compared to other trailers, not traditional homes. If you have the land and a place to live, you can build your permanent home in stages and save a lot of money in the process.

Maybe the AT%26amp;T Tilt?

How do i get and install Windows Mobile 6 onto my HTC Tytn that has windows mobile 5?

I have an HTC Tytn that came pre-installed with windows mobile 5 and i want to install windows mobile 6. I am an HTC club member but the site has nothing to download. Please help me - where can i download windows mobile 6 and how do i install it onto the phone?

How do i get and install Windows Mobile 6 onto my HTC Tytn that has windows mobile 5?
I do not believe that is compatible with 6 yet. They are working harder to get 6.1 on more of the newer phones than catch up to older 5.0 phones. I just got an HTC Touch that was preloaded with 6. Here is the link to show what phones can upgrade to 6 and 6.1.

Mobile Internet?

I have been using my phone with t-mobile, and WAP was free, I use the phones web browser and access websites, I dont have a data-plan, and it didnt charge me on my bill. Some people say it's not free...but is it?

Mobile Internet?
From what I can see on the T-mobile website, they do charge for wap browsing, but it is possible that you may be on an older unlimited plan that includes data. If your not and you start getting charged for it their internet package is 5.99 a month. Some companies don't charge for wap if you stay on their wap deck.
Reply:Wi-Fi is free not WAP if your carrier did not charge you....maybe it will show on your next bill unless there's a promotion or glitch going on because accessing the net is not free just because you have WAP.

Mobile speed cameras?

I was in North Wales (UK) yesterday (Saturday), driving down a 70MPH dual Carriageway. I was amazed to see 2 cop cars in layby's with speed cameras and an "arrive alive" mobile speed camera van - this was all within 10 miles of each other. Coming back down the coast along major/minor roads and residential areas, I didn't see one police car doing the rounds.

Am I the only one that thinks considering it is a weekend and kids are out playing, these police and their speed cameras should be located on minor and major roads with pedestrian access, rather than on high speed motorways where there are no pedestrians, and it is easy to drift a few MPH over the speed limit. It seems they are more interested in catching high volumes of people to make money, than keeping the important roads safe where the kids are.

What do you think?

BTW - In case you are wondering - I wasn't speeding!

Please note this is not a question about weather or not it is wrong to speed - so please don't preach

Mobile speed cameras?
It's all about revenue, not safety. Do the math. If cops catch criminals it costs a fortune to prosecute them and then to keep them locked up.

On the other hand if you nick a motorist for speeding, most of them don't even show up in court, they just pay the fine, so the boost to the revenue is literally millions of pounds, or dollars, or euros a year.

Cops, basically, take the easy way out, so they can get their quota and then sit around drinking coffee and eating doughnuts and chatting up the birds, so they go to a place where there is a ton of traffic and all of it is speeding. Bingo - in a very short time they've "Done their duty" and can get back to skiving on the public purse.

Cops everywhere are being misused this way. The days when they were your friend are long gone.
Reply:I hate speed cameras with a passion, they sure as hell have nothing to do with road safety and everything to do with raking in revenue for the police force, motorways are actually one of the safest places to drive, they are usually straight, you can see quite far ahead usually and if its busy, you wouldn't be speeding anyway, most incidents which happen on motorways are rarely to do with excessive speed and usually down to driver incompetance or judgemental error. I think the latest move to hide mobile cameras in horse boxes is just totally below the belt and I think you could have them for entrapment and human rights laws (why not make it work for honest people!!???) although it would need to be a brave soul who would attempt to challenge the police in this way. In order to combat bad driving, cameras are not the answer, stiffer driving tests and more patrols by the traffic cops are whats required, especially in urban areas where people seem to take more risks in a less suitable environment. I know you said no preaching but I want to just say this, some people aren't intelligent about speeding, including the government, speeding in some circumstances is OK, on a dry, clear motorway it is perfectly acceptable to do 90-100 MPH, but when it's busy or wet then 60-70 is all you should be doing, the same in urban areas, where there is a high volume of people and other traffic, keep the speed down to around 25-30, but later on when theres little traffic and hardly any people around then I don't see what harm 40-45 MPH would do, you can't just tar everybody with the same brush like the law unfortunately does, speeding is not necessarily speeding, you match your speed to the road and environment you happen to be in.
Reply:Could they have been out of your sight at an accident where one of those children had been hit by a speeding car?
Reply:it's probably one of the more dangerious parts of the moterway that a lot of people misjudge and drive to fast and crash.
Reply:I think they should be disbanded imediately.

To think that is all people think of when they think of the police.

Speed camera vans.

Everybody on here should agree with you.

Iv'e known three people that i went to school with that are now coppers.

I even went out with a girl copper.

They agree with you, they hate traffic cops as well.

Its the goverments fault.

They should stop this stupidity right now before eveyone in the country hates the police or thinks they are tax collectors.

They remind me of the sherrif of nottingham henchmen.

Taking money from people who can't defend themselfs, i mean you get a letter that can scare an old person if its from court.

All for what, a slight infringement of a law nobody obeys to the letter bacause you can't drive and watch the speedo at the same time.

That dude who goes out and burns down gatso cameras shound be knighted and put in charge of traffic cops.

And as for the police cheif of the welsh.

He should shot DEAD.
Reply:Your concern is accepted but I think it has more to do with people driving at dangerously high speeds on unrestricted, i.e. 70 mph, roads. I have taken to the motorway this week and while cruising at 70mph in the inside lane, I was overtaken, as a matter of routine, by cars that left me standing. They must have been at speeds around 90 mph. The police have to catch all people speeding dangerously, i.e. those doing say above 80mph, as these speeds do lead to massive motorway fatalities. There is good reason to limit motorways and dual carriageways to 70 mph .. people will abuse that by an unacceptable margin and that is what that was all about.
Reply:Well I have noticed that in Nottingham they are getting the mobile speed camera more often and they are putting them out on major roads (where there are pedestrians).

I do try to stay with in the speed limit, especially when I am in populated areas but find that on certain roads I will be going at the max speed limit but still get people tail gating me trying to push me to go faster, which really does annoy me.

Mobile home electrical problems?

ok my mobile home is i think a 1978 and the power on some outliets and some lights work others dont we thought it might have been a bad breaker but it wasnt then we changed the outlets still nothing whats the problem and it came on for about a week and then it did it again what could this problem be

Mobile home electrical problems?
You definitely have a wiring issue from what you have described. Without performing some test it a little hard to be specific.

Check all GFI outlets or GFI breakers to verify they have not been tripped.

Here is where I would start using a multi-meter.

1. Check for voltage at the receptacles.

2. Check for voltage coming out of the breakers.

Note: you should have between 113 v to 124v on each circuit.

3. Remove the covers off each receptacle that is not working and check all connections.

4. I would unplug each output device (Lamps, appliances or etc,) than remove the hot wire (black) from the breaker, than remove the neutral wire (White) from the terminal strip. Use a wire connector and fasten the two together. Trace the circuit and test each receptacle for continuity. Where you continuity the circuit is fine. No continuity is an indication where the problem is.

Could be a connection of the wires to the receptacle, wires in a junction box on the circuit, a bad neutral connection, or a bad wire. Once you discover where the issue resides in the circuit you know where to fix your problem.

NOTE: When making repairs - TURN OFF THE CIRCUIT AT THE MAIN PANEL BOX. Always verify there is no current before making repairs
Reply:call an electrician
Reply:Well, I think we need a little more detail here, as it could be several things.

Are you in a double-wide? If so, then there may be a problem with the cross-over wiring.

Which outlets are being affected? Some outlets are run in a series from GFCI outlets. Kitchen counter outlets for example, typically feed off the one with the GFCI outlet. When it trips, they all go off. Bathroom outlets are also GFCI outlets, and outside outlets are usually run from one of these. There is usually an outlet under the home too, to plug in heat tape (while it is often on its own circuit breaker, its not always set up that way).

Also... its quite common to find several outlets in a 'chain'... the power for one comes from another, which may even come from another.... and if one of those at the head of the chain has a faulty connection, then they will all lose power.

There is even the occasional wall switch that operates some outlets (usually found in the living room, on the outside wall, but Ive seen a few bedrooms set up this way too).

Good Luck
Reply:The wiring works on three phases. You may have a problem with one Phase. You will see this as a loss of the outlets that are powered from that phase. But most large appliances that run on 220V will not work either (Dryer and Oven). If this is the problem the electric company is responsible for repair of the Transformer.
Reply:You probably have a bad connection somewhere the only way to find it is with an elec. tester. or an electrician.
Reply:I had a service call this week to a mobile home like yours. The receptacles were all wired by sticking the wires into the back of the receptacles rather than attaching them to the side screws. These receptacles didn't even have side screws. Many wires were very loose, causing other, downstream, receptacles to not work. I replaced the ones pointed out by the home owner, and then suggested that every receptacle in the home be replaced with side wired receptacles before one of those loose connections starts a fire.
Reply:electrical problems like this are only solved by following the wires from the breaker to the outlet point and/or the switch point.

First you need to know What Circuit Breakers Control What Switches and Outlets

After that its logical that you follow each circuit to see if the whole circuit goes out when you have the problem or just a part of it.

Kabish???
Reply:DANGER!!

U have an intermittent connection -can lead to arcing and overheating.

U need to Find the circuit that the dead outlets are on, then (with power off of course) remove and inspect EVERY connection on that circuit. Not just outlets, also lights. U will find one that is discolored or showes signs of arcing/over heating. I'd replace the outlet/light also unless u can see into it to inspect the contacts and even then I'd prob replace.

There are circuit tracers U can rent/buy to trace this to find all the connections.
Reply:faulty wiring
Reply:If power came on for a period of time and then went back off you mite want to check your GFCI receptecles and make sure that there not tripped. If that is not the case it does sound like faulty wiring..

Mobile internet device.. can it get a virus?

http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Product.a...

i am thinking of getting this and i was wondering if you can get viruses on them? and if you can go on a messenger? like msn?

Mobile internet device.. can it get a virus?
It comes with Linux (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux ), which viruses are far less common for, but do exist. It is Windows XP compatible, so that comes with all the strings attached as normal. I would download ClamWin (http://www.clamwin.com/ ) to protect against viruses. However, you MUST find a firewall compatible with the version of linux you are using.

Free MSN clone for linux: http://www.amsn-project.net/

To point out: Linux is not compatible with windows programs (but look for WINE, which can run some), and can be hard to use, depending on the version.
Reply:Oops, sorry, it's ClamAV. Report It

Reply:It can but most don't simply because no one bothers to write one.

Mobile No. 9411020708 sim No. 8991545021411048685 I want PUK Code.?
PUK code comes with the phone when you buy it. You should have kept that code somewhere safe.

There's no other way to find out the PUK code as far as I know, which is logical because it is to protect it against theft. Punch in the wrong PIN for three times and the phone will only be able to be unlocked with the PUK code which the owner has so the thieves can not do anything with the phone.

Mobile Flight Mode?

I was just wondering can you dail 999 on your mobile phone during the flight mode or wont it work?

Just asking cause Im curious.

Mobile Flight Mode?
You cannot dial any number whilst in "Flight Mode" as it is impossible, try it you won't even get a dial out tone. This also applies to certain parts of the phone like the radio or bluetooth.
Reply:No it wont work, flight mode essentially renders the mobile unable to transmit or receive any signals whatsoever so that the aircraft's communications are not interfered with. Attempting to dial 999 will prompt the phone to ask you if you want to leave flight mode.
Reply:I doubt it will work at 30,000' You can try, but I would expect ot get arrested as soon as you land.
Reply:No it won't work because the transmitter is turned off. The phone will not be communicating with the cellular network.
Reply:It shouldn't work, when the phone is in flight mode it doesn't try to connect to the network at all.

I tried downloading free games for my mobile AT n T TILT, but looks like none of them work. Can any1 help me ?
What you are looking for is pocket pc applications

most that work for windows mobile 5 work for 6 also .

There are a few that don't but not many.

If the file is a .cab type file you have to download it to the tilt then open the file .If it is an .exe type file you will have to install activesync on your computer . Then connect the tilt to it with the usb cable .After it connects you open the file while it is on the computer and it will install it on the phone .

For im that will connect to gtalk ,aim ,yahoo, and msn messenger i like this program called slick. You will have to register .But the program is free .

If it is for a blackberry or palm it will not work on the tilt.

There are a few palms now like the treo 700 and 750 that use windows mobile.
Reply:Try this site. Also are you loading the programs through Activesync or onto through your memory card... Also are you using .cab files.....

Mobile phones?

I am a little bit confused to choose, which 1 do you recommend?

a) comes with Quad-band GSM with GPRS, EDGE, conference call facility, Internet access with WAP 2.0, e-mail client.

b) 3G (not reverts to tri-band GSM with GPRS when 3G service not available), Mircosoft Windows Mobile with Pocket Outlook %26amp; Pocket Internet Explorer, can display Acrobat files.

which 1 is more convenient for conference call facility.. please tell me why you think is the right 1 for me?

Mobile phones?
A- because you might go to different places and 3g speed varies, it also drains your battery life. quad band is much more better because when u travel to a remot place your phone still works and edge gives you fast speed.

so go for A because a 3g phone in confrence call battery tends to die
Reply:B
Reply:Which one do you like the look of and which one is cheapest.

3G is a con. I had a 3G phone last year and got 3G coverage in central London and that's about it. Maybe the infrastructure has been rolled out a little more since then, but the battery life was atrocious on the handset and it was roughly the size of a transit van.

Mobile internet?

I'm always on the road traveling with my business. What device would best suit my mobile internet needs (e-mail and web surfing)... a laptop/tablet PC w/WiFi or a telephone with internet capability? Thanks!

Mobile internet?
For business needs a notebook or tablet PC would be a better choice. Although many PDA/Smartphones are available %26amp; have many great features their capabilities are no match. You could also consider adding a wireless card to a laptop which would give you much better %26amp; faster wireless access in more locations than WiFi spots. Sprint is the best for wireless broadband access. Check out their website!
Reply:a laptop with wifi, and a cellphone than doubles as a modem.

cellular internet still leaves much to be desired unless you like slower than dialup speeds.

Mobile phone Madness?

isnt it crazy when you think about it on how much money we spend on impulsive buying of mobile phones, i hate to think of the amount of money i have spent over the years and then after a couple of months or with some people weeks even we get another one. its a never ending cycle and will be i suspect for ever. im i just got rid of my 6300 nokia and now just brought a 6500 slide and god knows what it will be next month. anyone with any views on the subject be glad to hear.

Mobile phone Madness?
.
Reply:LOL...sounds like you need to stop looking at other mobiles for a while...just walk past the shops and don't look back.

But really, it's a fairly common issue. The phone companies love it because they want you to be dissatisfied with your current mobile as quickly as possible so you'll buy another...makes more money for them!

I think it's especially true of new users as they really don't know what they will want or use or 'need' until they have used a few of them.

When we bought our phones and signed up for our service, we had no idea we'd receive so many texts or that we'd be making so many ourselves...for our lifestyle and work schedules it makes more sense and is more polite to text. Now we want new mobiles but we have committed to waiting until Sept when we will have had our current mobiles for two years...may seem a little extreme to wait that long but we don't want to waste money on features we don't like so we are taking our time looking for the next ones...I have a feeling they'll be really good!
Reply:i have a contract so im not buying a new phone every month. Sounds like you have money to waste!
Reply:I have a contract and a work mobile when they both go off well its prioritise?but a phone can save your life and when on holiday take video footage and photos get a contract phone from a friend who works in that area they will put you on to there friends and family list and will save you a fortune take care and happy new phone.
Reply:just imagine having these things in your pocket: cd player, camera, mobile phone, mp3 player, some maps, recorder, radio, internet on a pc and much more.

i and many others have all these separate items. and now you can have it all in one little package stuck on the side of your head.

regards david
Reply:I can't be bothered to go looking for a new phone that often. I prefer to get the most out of the one I've got.!!

It's too much like hard work to learn all the new feature and protocols and what-have-you's.!!!!
Reply:i used to buy a new phne every few months as i always got bored and something better would get reduced into my price range.

but since i switched onto a pay monthly contract i get a new phone every 9 months except last year when it broke after a few months and i had to buy a new one.

its one of those things were people all want ot compete with each other especially at school or in groups of friends - although i find its usually blokes that are competitive with how good an dhow much there phone is, girls usually go on style so they have the battle of who has the most stylish phone and now the pinkest lol

Mobile phones?

If I bought 2 mobile phones on the same network would I be able to switch sim cards without having to unlock the phone would it work?

Mobile phones?
If its the same network (e.g. both phones are on O2) then if you have an O2 sim then you can switch it between phones all you like.

If its an Orange or another network sim, you can't stick it on an O2 mobile, unless you unlock the network, which costs about £10, in a market or somewhere like that

How do i view non mobile versions of websites on my mogul by htc?

my mogul defaults to mobile myspace and facebook. the sales rep told me that i can switch it to the regular version of the website when i bought the phone but i can't figure out how.

or if anyone knows how to view photo comments in the mobile mode of myspace... i don't really mind using the mobile version i just can't view my photo comments on it and other minor details.

(fyi: all in all though i love this phone and recommend it to anyone considering it. all my friends phones seem like dinosaurs by comparison now. lol)

How do i view non mobile versions of websites on my mogul by htc?
i just got this phone. Mine doesn't do that. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help, but i love it too :)

Which would be better for me T-Mobile or Tracfone?

I live in Northwest Indiana, Crown Point to be exact. I currently have a Tracfone but its a very simple default phone. It's quite good with texting (.3 going out and nothing coming in), but recently I have had a lot of moments where a camera phone could've been handy. My birthday is coming up %26amp; I was planning on either asking for a bunch of video games or asking for a new prepaid cell phone, preferably one with a camera. I text a decent amount and if I were to have a camera phone, I would take %26amp; send pictures quite a bit too. I currently have my eyes on the T-Mobile - Samsung T429, but I need to have info before I can ask my parents. I know about how much is costs for texts and what-not for T-mobile and for the most part for Tracfone. (I would use the $100 dollar / 1,000 minute card on the T-mobile phone.)

I want to know if I should stick with the Tracfone company or go to T-mobile. (I may choose to wait and see if better phones come out.)

What company do you think I should choose?

Which would be better for me T-Mobile or Tracfone?
I'm a big Tracfone user, but I have to admit that if I were ever to switch away from Tracfone (or net10, which is basically the same thing), it would be for T-Mobile. T-mo definitely has the nicer selection of phones. For me, the main issue is coverage. Tracfone has MUCH better coverage in my experience. If you do 95% of your talking/texting in an area with t-mo coverage, it's not an issue. But I tried out t-mo once, and found that I was often paying 2x rates since I was roaming onto ATT networks where I couldn't get a T-Mo signal.

Tracfone, on the other hand, is not partial to any one network. You'll pay the same whether you are connecting through Cingular/ATT, T-Mobile, or one of the smaller carriers (for GSM). Same with a CDMA phone, or at least the newer CDMA phones. If you get any signal at all, it will cost you a flat 1x per minute.

I also have a Tracfone with free incoming texts, which I use a LOT since my email/IM's are forwarded to my phone in some cases. Twitter is also fun with free incoming texts. So be sure that you know what you're giving up with that free incoming deal. That cooler phone may end up costing you a lot more than you expect.

If you're dead set on getting a cooler phone, T-Mo most definitely has more to choose from. Just be aware that the upgrade may be more expensive than just the cost of the phone.
Reply:I have Tracfone and I've never had any problems with it. I don't know whether T-Mobile is any good or not.

Below are some websites that may help you decide which phone to get.

Mobile Signal...Internet Help!?

Hi,

I am currently staying at a location with no mobile signal. I cannot get any text messages. Are there any online or software program services in which you can pick up texts online? I live in the UK and my network is O2.

Nope, not that I know of.

Mobile conversation as an evidence of proff in Civil case?

Due to some urgent need ,I had got my cash converted in to cheque by some one.Due to nonawreness i did not take any proff for the cash amount i paid to that person. Now the same person has put a false recovery suit on me in Delhi court saying that he has given me a loan of that amoutn and is using mobile conversation as an evidence of proff. Can Delhi court take decision based on That and ask me to pay the amount?

Mobile conversation as an evidence of proff in Civil case?
no not even rare circumstances like sting operations...............sb
Reply:yes, in case the conversation is proved to be between you %26amp; the other party filling a suit of recovery, but it is extreemely difficult to proove that, unless some other supporting documents or evidence is not available
Reply:Mobile conversation may not be taken as evidence.

Even if it is taken, there is nothing to worry because the full coversation would naturally cover both points that you had taken cheque against equal amount of cash.

Mobile (cell) phones may soon be allowed to be used on planes over Europe...good idea or bad idea?

Soon that hated phrase "I'm on the train" may be replaced by "I'm on the plane" is plans go ahead to allow mobile phone use on aeroplanes.I for one don't relish having to sit through a few hours listening to my neighbouring passenger's inane chatter on these devices. what did these people do before they were invented? Many people now seem to have a phone glued to their ear wherever they are, train, street even while driving. What do you think?

Mobile (cell) phones may soon be allowed to be used on planes over Europe...good idea or bad idea?
loads of little electronic blips floating around in a plane 30,000 feet above a vast body of water - BAD IDEA. not to mention annoying, if they are gonna let the lady with the three screaming kids talk on her cell phone for the entire flight, they better let me light up. and i don't condone that either on overseas flights.
Reply:That's not good, aren't enough all those old women shouting by your side, people coughing, talking and etc?

Oh, if besides all that I'll have to bear a girl speaking with her friends in California on the phone I'll jump with the parachute!

Please, use a notebook!

Ci vediamo!
Reply:I think that this will mean fewer people will fly and that there will be more air rage incidents. Nice.
Reply:BAD. Can you imagine sitting next to someone on a long haul flight, who constantly is reporting on his journey..... probably to someone who does not care anyway.!
Reply:I am addicted with cell phones, i had already talked on my cell riding my motorcycle!!(i know i'm wrong...)

But on aeroplanes would disturb a lot of people that pay for a calm journey.

It Isn't a good idea...

Mobile Pc repair kit and software advice please?

I am starting a mobile PC repair service in my local area and i would like to know what would be suitable software to carry with me and maybe suitable hardware and power tools to take for testing etc. I know different problems require different bits n bobs but any advice would be appreciated :)

Mobile Pc repair kit and software advice please?
Computer repairs? On what level?

If you're just going to replace parts, lots of parts.

Software:

BartPE

Ultimate Boot CD

GPartEd

A Linux live CD (for disk recovery, using ddrecover)

A promiscuous wifi program of some sort, to test wifi adapters. (You should also have a working WAP in the truck.)

A bootable CD with a CD test suite

An LCD test suite

I usually carry a few GB of utilities, VB, in case I need to write a quick utility, a web site on a stick.

You might want to keep a computer in the truck that runs a web site through your in-truck LAN, to test web connection problems.

If you're going to do more than replace parts, a good multimeter and a triggered scope, at least dual-trace.

You'll want a power alternator to provide normal house power (for wherever you are - 125/60, 220/50 - whatever is used where you are), since switching supplies don't work normally on a lot of inverters.

A full tool kit - flat, Philips, Torx, square and hex bits, needlenose, diagonals, forceps (the medical kind), wire strippers, crimpers and a full kit of terminals, including RJ-11, RJ-45 and coax (for cable jumpers for cable internet connections), a few different mirrors, a magnetic retriever.

And a few mechanics' magnetic trays and a muffin pan.

A 2.5", 3.5", SATA to USB adapter is always handy.

Compressed air (easy in a truck) to blow the dust out. Not too much pressure OR volume.

A fire extinguisher sitting in easy reach of any position you may work in.

Mobile Phone Q?

What is the best mobile on the market for Internet and e-mail use? I live in the UK so pls bear this in mind.

Mobile Phone Q?
Internet access on mobile devices changes the way the Internet is used. In addition to accessing existing Internet content with personal mobile devices, mobilizing the Internet creates totally new kinds of Internet content and services. Mobile Internet services can be made topical and personal by utilizing location and contextual data. Mobile users may take an important role in uploading topical content to the services. We have already seen the first steps in this direction, but the user experience is often affected by technical limitations, data traffic pricing, and content discovery problems.

A big change for the Internet is estimated to happen in developing countries, where mobile phones may provide the only way to use the Internet [1]. The whole infrastructure for the Internet will be different there, and the infrastructure should be built to provide the best possible user experience with the given resources. This may affect the development of the whole society.

User experience factors in mobile Internet systems include the device hardware and software, connection, gateway, services, and the seamless flow between these [3]. All these should work smoothly together to allow engaging user experiences. This workshop discusses user acceptance and user experience factors for mobile Internet.

Mobile Home Sunroom, built cheap yourself?

Has anyone build your own sunroom cheap for your mobile home? By old windows, screen doors, plywood %26amp; etc? I live in a country - no city codes, no problem! Please infos! Thanks!

Mobile Home Sunroom, built cheap yourself?
I find that contractors seem to wind up with sliding glass doors that are just considered junk. I have found numerous ones illegally dumped. These are the commonly sized, double-paned variety. The good thing about these is that you need only about eight for a smaller sunroom. It'll provide a great view. Remember to keep some part of the wall/doors openable and screened, so you can let excess heat out.
Reply:Loof for a salvage yard that sells old wooden storm windows. These are the old type, don't weigh a lot and you could handle them easily yourself. Depending on your room size purchase as many of the same size as you need.

I would take a little time to scrape off old paint and repaint them inside and out, replace glazing.

To make it really nice purchase some surface mount hinges and mount them at the top of the storm window. This way you can open the windows by pushing them out at the bottom-install screenwire on the inside of ones you want to open.

Since your new room needs to be constructed quickly and at the least cost, dig postholes and set treated 4"x4" in ground spaced out at 6'-8' apart. Install bottom horizontal row of treated 2"x4" about 4" above ground, Set your next horizontal row of regular spf 2"x4" at level you want for bottom of your storm windows. Now measure your storms and set your next row of horizontal 2"x4"'s flush with the top of these storm windows. Now install vertical 2"x4"s on edge like a regular stud wall back behind your horizontal 2"x4"s on the inside of the wall. Nail or screw them in place by going through your horizontal's into these vertical studs. These studs should be placed apart so storm windows fit right in the opening. Now fill in vertical 2"x4"s on 2' centers between the openings and above and below all the windows. Now fill in rest of horizontal rows about 2' apart .Put o.s.b. on inside and outside, and cover with whatever you want. Top of the tops of all your upright 4"x4"s that you cut off all level, top with 2 rows of staggered joint 2"x4"s. Frame roof, put in sand fill-level tamp and install 12"x12" patio blocks. If sun is too hot coming in windows- Install window film (really dark) on glass.

Like to help you more- but answer is getting too long.

Good Luck.

Iam being annoyed by constant mobile telephone call sfrom a mobile telephone to my mobile telephone. Can I block that number and how? I have a NOKIA N95 thanks

How can I block a mobile number from calling my cell telephone?
There are third party softwares available to do this. The name I remember is "Best.Blacklist". By installing this software you can block incoming calls of predefined numbers. Try searching the net and I am sure you will find these applications on some forums.
Reply:The file can be founf at this link

You will have to register, but it is worth it. It is the best mobile download site with loads of downloads.

Cheers!

Bye
Reply:you can do that on a samsung phone, without assistance from operator/service provider ,for N95 ask you service provider for any value added service(chargeable),or search a programme and install on your phone as programs can be installed in N95 by user unlike in other ordinary phones.
Reply:honestly there is no way to block a single number at this time.

You can if your phone has it do whats called resticted dialing, you can restrict your calls to people ONLY in your phone book. But remember its for incoming and outoging calls!
Reply:You can divert the calls to someone you hate!

Mobile cell phones are more dangerous than smoking or asbestos?

Mobile cell phones are more dangerous than smoking or asbestos?
Oh, please, let it be true. Maybe some of the cell phone yapping fools will get off their cell phones and pay attention to their driving.
Reply:its not true
Reply:nope.. mobile phones ruin the ear. the worst that could happen is ear cancer. and generally, smoking ruins the whole body.. and may cause death
Reply:I think mobile phones are at least as dangerous as smoking. But you don't have to do comparisons. Just don't smoke and try to speak less on the mobile,or use headphones.

Mobile phones don't distroy only your ears it can make braindamage also, and it depends where do you keep your phone, the part of you body that is near the phone can suffer from disease too.. We will find out how much damage can a mobile do in a few years,I think.
Reply:Only if you are one of them yuppys who talk on thier phone all day

Mobile phones harzardous to men?

I always hear about studies investigating mobile phones as a possible cause of brain cancer but isn't anyone bothered about the possible hazard to male fertility?

When a phone isn't in use but is switched on it periodically emits radiation while searching for cell sites, receiving a text/picture message, receiving a call, etc.

If a man keeps his phone in his trouser pocket all day everyday, like myself, there's a potential risk to the testes thus lowering the quantity and quality of active sperm cells. Could it also increase the chances of testicular cancer?

There have been studies into this but not near as many as on the possible affects to the brain.

What are your thoughts?

Mobile phones harzardous to men?
i never put the cell phone in the pocket... i have a clutch bag where i place the object... but even then ... i know that it is still close to me...

this gadget, albeit hard to leave at home everyday, is a potential body hazard... we should try to put it as far to our body as possible...

in the aspect of testicular cancer... i dont think there is suffienct study in it.. and then it would be noticeable that the prevalent use of phones would lead to an increase in such a cancer in our society...( i dont have data to make any inference)... §
Reply:If a crate full of phones fall on you from a great height there is a distinct possibility it will you other wise unlikely
Reply:Yes. Using them when driving can cause you to have an accident!
Reply:The only problem for men is when wife/gf finds messages from other women.then you will find your sperm count goes down when they kick you in the B*******ks.
Reply:omg i didnt no bout that im scared now.. it will effect our chances in having children and it could give you cancer.. im going to use a hand back that you hold not one that you put on your shoulder.. thank you for the warning i will tell my boy mate!!
