What is Indian mobile phone culture?

Nowadays people use mobile phones immensely. Mobile phones have spreaded like a spider web. Why is there so much use of mobile phones in the present scenario in the Indian context? Even the children are also taking mobile phones to their colleges and schools whether they need it or not. So why is the use of mobile phones have become immense or extensive? What is the need?

What is Indian mobile phone culture?
Today Mobile is a craze instead of need. This is more in childrens and college students. If one student brings mobile in class then all other students demands same to their parents.

People are so dependent today on mobile that they cant leave house w/o their cell phone......and this is trap by GSM and WLL companies.......they made mobile rent so cheap that every family can afford mobile to thieir 10 yr old childs also. Thats why cellular phone rents and call rates are cheapest in India compared to other country.

This is mutual developement in cellphone n/w.....more people buying cellphone.......more cheaper its provided by co's....again more peoples are buying it.....
Reply:there is no mobile culture in india. the phone etiquette or whtever we call it is lacking.
Reply:Mobile phones were initially introduced to help people on the move to communicate while on travel. Now due the culture has radically changed.People own mobiles both as a necessity as well as for prestige. Many have a craving to change phones as soon a new model enters the market. Also such phones have also led to the increase in cyber crimes due to the camera attachment apart from cell-thefts.It has ensured keeping in constant touch with our dear ones but with its own quota of troubles!
